Review

It’s my first purchase from Imam Carpets and I’m happy that I found a very reputable and genuine place to shop online without a fear of being cheated in terms of quality.

The Story Behind Olivine

Olivine is named for the green mineral, and like the stone it holds one colour all the way through. The green shifts slightly from row to row, so the field has depth instead of a flat, printed tone. Hand knotted in wool, the pile leans one way, so the green lightens from one end of the room and deepens from the other.

How it was made

Construction: Hand Knotted
Every knot tied by hand on a loom, then cut to make the pile.
Knot: Senneh knot
The asymmetrical knot, also called the Persian knot. The yarn wraps one warp thread, which allows finer detail.
Density: 50–80 knots per square inch
Knots in every square inch. The higher the count, the finer the detail and the longer the rug takes to knot.
Pile: Plush
Material: Wool
