Review

It’s my first purchase from Imam Carpets and I’m happy that I found a very reputable and genuine place to shop online without a fear of being cheated in terms of quality.

The Story Behind the Überfärbter Perserteppich – Größe: 6,8 x 3,8

How it was made

Construction: Hand Knotted
Every knot tied by hand on a loom, then cut to make the pile.
Knot: Senneh knot
The asymmetrical knot, also called the Persian knot. The yarn wraps one warp thread, which allows finer detail.
Density: 101–140 knots per square inch
Knots in every square inch. The higher the count, the finer the detail and the longer the rug takes to knot.
Pile: Zero pile
Material: Wool

Where it comes from

Made in: Pakistan
Made by: Selected and overdyed by Imam Carpet Co.
We dye the finished rug again in a single colour, over its original pattern.
Style: Traditional, Tribal

What to look for

One of a kind
This exact rug exists once. When it is sold, it is gone.
Natural dyes
Coloured with vegetable dyes.
Abrash
Hand-dyed in small batches, so the colour shifts gently across the rug. Rug makers call this abrash.
Light one way, dark the other
The colour looks deeper when you face the pile and lighter from the other end.

Living with it

Best for: Medium traffic
Living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, away from the main walkway.
Cleaning: Professional hand wash
